hristian pilgrimage Italy, journeys to some of the most sacred Christian sites in Rome Lazio, Umbria and in the Marche. Most of our journeys to Italy begin in the Eternal City of Rome with visits to the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Square, Basilica, Vatican Museum and more.
We travel North and pilgrims experience the life and work of St Francis, loved and admired by Catholic and Protestants alike with interesting stories of how he preached to the birds.
Many pilgrims have visited the Eternal City before but few had been to Assisi, and none to the smaller centres of Lanciano, Loreto or Manoppello. The aim of the pilgrimage is to provide spiritual growth through daily prayer, visit some world-renowned chapels and basilicas, and engage in theological and spiritual reflection. Italy deepens the awareness of presence of God in the soul, which can be carried home in your heart.
Depending on the size of the group, private Mass can be arranged in Lanciano en route to Assisi.
All the roads I have taken to grow my faith have been bumpy, filled with sharp bends and many reversals. This pilgrimage added a significant wealth of perspective on Christianity. It all helped my attempts to peel away imagery (often stunning) and marketing down the ages from the underlying core of belief. I have a long way to go but the amazing fellowship amongst the pilgrims moved me further forward than I could have expected. I had fun too, plus a surplus of ‘unauthorised’ food!
